US technology stocks climbed on Wednesday after video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc had better-than-expected quarterly results and four US cable operators announced a joint venture with Sprint Nextel Corp.

Comcast gained 2.6 percent to $28.84, while Sprint Nextel added 3.9 percent to $24.79.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 55.38 points, or 0.53 percent, at 10,462.15. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 8.06 points, or 0.67 percent, at 1,210.82. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was up 20 points, or 0.95 percent, at 2,134.05.
